Welcome to Hillsborough

The radiant residential community with palatial homes and protected green spaces

The well-established town of Hillsborough perches in the space between San Mateo and Interstate 280, emanating an undeniably luxurious ambiance. Known to house an affluent and elite community, privacy in Hillsborough is highly valued. Primarily residential, this area is within minutes of SFO airport and only 30 minutes from downtown San Francisco. Its ideal location between forested green space, urban areas, and the bay’s sparkling waters make Hillsborough a great community that can cater to a wide variety of needs.
The town was incorporated in 1910 and, since then, maintains a picturesque suburban landscape. Hillsborough’s zoning codes have created a community of large housing properties, as the hefty minimum sizes for lots and living spaces nixed the development of condos, townhomes, and apartments in the city’s limits.
Architectural styles traverse the decades of the 20th century, including a bevy of historic pre-1940s options, and consequently, homes are drenched in their own unique personalities. Price points in Hillsborough can reach well over $10 million, though the average house sells for around $6 million. The hefty tags are worth it, though, and these massive luxe properties, mansions, and estates come in an array of awe-inspiring designs, packed with lavish amenities, rich history, and unparalleled elegance.
